The 3rd URJA Convention of RWAs:

Venue: Constitution Club, Rafi Marg, New Delhi

Progression of Event
Morning Session (10:30 AM to 01:00 PM):
Introduction: The convention commenced with an introductory note on URJA by Col. Shandilya, General Secretary People’s Action and a welcome address by Mr. Sanjay Kaul, President People’s Action. Coordinators from the seven URJA zones - East, North, West, South, Central, Dwarka and Rohini were introduced and they also unveiled the URJA logo.
Open Forum: The MCD panel for open forum comprised of Mayor Arti Mehra and Chairman of the standing committee Mr. Vijendra Gupta. Members raised issues concerning roads and overall cleanliness of the city. The panel assured them that steps are being taken and soon the problems pertaining to roads and cleanliness will be resolved. In addition, the concept of Resident Ward Committee was also duly supported by all the attendees. Due to time constraint, the panel was not able to take up all the questions raised. However, the Mayor assured that all pending queries can be sent across to her and these will be dealt with in due course of time.

Post-lunch session (02:00 PM to 05:00 PM):
The post-lunch session witnessed presence of a number of dignitaries. Chief Information Commissioner Mr. Wajahat Habibullah had an interactive session with the attendees regarding RTI. The panel also included Mr. Dhirendra Krishna, former IAS officer who shared his experience and views on the subject with the audience.
Former CBI Chief, Mr. Joginder Singh raised the security issue and along with the audience acknowledged the need for a mandatory ID card regime in the state.
BJP representative at the convention Mr. Jagdish Mukhi made an open offer on behalf of the party to residents to contribute to the BJP manifesto by proposing suggestions.
Mr. Manoj Misra from YJA delivered an insightful talk on the Yamuna issue, while talks by Mr. Vinod Jain on the power front, Anil Mittal on the co-operative societies situation in Delhi and Mr Udayan Namboodiri on the issue of plastic bags usage in Delhi were positively received by the members.
